How to Dress for Your Body Type

We’ve all been stuck in front of the mirror frustrated with our bodies, frustrated at how our clothing seems to emphasize every part of ourselves that we hate. However, it’s important to understand that everyone’s body is different. So, here are some tips and tricks to help you on your journey to feeling great about your style.

1. Determine you body type. Here is an illustration to help you out:

Did you figure it out? Once you have that done, you can move on to the second step.

2.  Wear whatever you damn well please.

It’s so easy! In fact, just skip the first step entirely because it doesn’t even matter!

I am so sick of articles outlining how women should dress. I am sick of watching red carpet coverage that is so focused on talking about who looks good and who doesn’t. Why is there this weird unspoken dress code that everyone is expected to follow in their day to day lives? People will tear each other apart based solely on how they dress – it’s ridiculous. Seriously, we already have enough dress codes ruling over us at work and at school. If I want to wear pajama pants and a hole-y t-shirt to run errands on my day off, let me. Likewise, if I want to wear a ballgown and Lady-Gaga-inspired-stiletto-platform-stilts to go do my errands, let me.

LET PEOPLE WEAR WHAT THEY WANT TO WEAR.

Beauty does not reside in whatever outfit you happen to choose on any given day. Wear the clothes you want to wear, that make you feel however you want to feel, and I can almost guarantee you’ll look good wearing them, just out of your own pure, beautiful spite.
